Given the firm’s strategic planning and continued growth they are seeking a talented Lead Planner / Architect to assume a key leadership role in the firm’s Space Strategies Practice.

All of the above are phrases that describe the firm’s Space Strategies Practice - an interdisciplinary group of diverse and passionate professionals combining their architecture, planning, software design, and data science expertise with critical thinking to solve complex problems that elevate the planning and design of healthcare, science, research and educational campuses, buildings and environments globally. The Lead Planner works with the Director of Space Strategies in leading client engagements that combine the best of management consulting with architectural spatial analysis - shaping the physical and operational dynamics of top global academic research and healthcare institutions.

The Lead Planner is a talented and engaged practice, team and project leader with a depth of experience and expertise orchestrating complex planning projects. As a strong critical and quantitative thinker passionate about data driven design, the Lead Planner will develop sophisticated space models and capital planning for an entire portfolio up to 1mil SF. S/he will work closely with University Deans, Research and Healthcare Leaders to analyze the built environment and aggregate metrics that provide valuable strategic planning insights. What are the institution's goals and how do they impact spatial requirements? Is renovating, building new or tearing down appropriate given the underlying data? As client decisions are forged and the capital plan is implemented, the Lead Planner will lead the Programming and Analysis Phase while following projects into SD and DD.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 15+ years of progressive planning leadership and high-level client engagement experience with Academic Research and/or Healthcare clients

  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture, Interiors, City & Regional Planning or Urban Design

  • Experience with Higher Education and/or Healthcare campuses / buildings

  • Strong data visualization experience (charts, graphs, diagrams, etc)

  • Excellent interview, presentation, writing, social and communication skills

  • Ability to work and lead confidently in a group with all levels of staff and client

  • Strong software skills with Excel, Adobe suite, Sketchup or Rhino, AutoCAD and Revit

  • Experience with data analytics programs such as Tableau and/or PowerBI

  • Ability to travel within the United States to client meetings
