Vice President Architecture + Design - Hospitality

With a focus on Hospitality, Residential and Mixed Use projects, their clients span the globe from New York and Los Angeles to London, Singapore and Bangkok. Given the firm’s continued growth and success, they are seeking a Vice President Architecture + Design with Hospitality expertise for their New York studio.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President Architecture + Design will be responsible for planning and oversight of design concepts for architecture, interiors and FF&E for hospitality projects, working closely with the Executive Vice President and Managing Director. S/he will manage design concepts and provide design direction to design consultant teams to maintain a high level of quality and brand consistency. This confident and resourceful leader will demonstrate a propensity for problem solving while overseeing multiple architecture developments, interior design and program development processes for hospitality projects. 

The Vice President Architecture + Design will coordinate relationships with design, development and construction professionals to ensure integrated design concepts, provide programmatic and spatial feasibility studies for potential new build and conversion developments, and review + approve design documents, interior design documents, color boards and model/sample guest rooms. As a representative of the company managing developer’s expectations, this individual will perform Site visits to understand existing market and building conditions and perform design reviews at various stages of the project.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture

  • 10+ years experience with Hospitality/Hotel focus

  • Significant CA and on-site supervision experience

  • Strong knowledge of construction schedules and methods

  • Understanding of national and international development markets

  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging trends, clients, and luxury/lifestyle market brands

  • Knowledge of industry’s leading architecture, interior design, landscaping, lighting and other professional firms and the provision of recommendations for specific projects

  • Proven track record of success building consensus with diverse and challenging personalities

  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients and other key constituents that creates a competitive advantage

  • Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills – written, oral and graphic

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and excellent computer skills preferred

  • Ability to travel in the U.S. and internationally
