Senior Project Manager - Higher Ed

Given the firm's continued growth and success, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager for their Education Studio based in their Los Angeles office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Project Manager will be a collaborative and detail-oriented leader, highly skilled in the management of complex educational projects. They will work closely with Partners, Principals, and the project team to ensure smooth workflow throughout all phases of planning, design, documentation, and construction. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing project teams and coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors. They will oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring design quality and technical excellence in project execution. As a key team member, they will participate in business development and marketing efforts, building and maintaining strong client relationships. Collaboration across disciplines to develop and execute projects will be a crucial aspect of the role. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with various departments to integrate architecture, interiors, and engineering solutions. They will also play an important role in mentoring junior team members, sharing their expertise and contributing to the professional development of the staff.


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture; Professional licensure required, LEED AP preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive project management experience, with a focus on educational projects
  • Experience with all phases of projects from 50,000 SF to 500,000 SF+
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams and working closely with clients, sub-consultants, and vendors
  • Experience with DSA, CSU, and/or UC approval processes
  • Familiarity with building codes, zoning ordinances, and ADA requirements related to design
  • Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility pertaining to fees, scope, and schedule
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software and project management tools
  • Experience with Lean methodologies of project management a plus
  • Thorough understanding of sustainable practices and industry standards
