The firm’s depth and breadth of expertise focuses on most commercial building types, including multi-family, office, retail, industrial, and hotel/hospitality, as well as college and university, government, and municipal facilities. Given the firm’s continued growth and success, they are seeking a Senior M/E/P Engineer to play a leadership role in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.

POSITION SUMMARY
With a passion for innovation, high performance building design, sustainability, and technical excellence, the Senior MEP Engineer is motivated to advance the firm's strategic MEP Engineering initiatives. While leading projects with real estate owners, investors, and lenders through every phase of the property lifecycle, the Senior MEP Engineer will join an in-house licensed team to evaluate, recommend, and improve MEP systems - developing solutions for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of system assets that improve building performance and produce a positive ROI. The firm’s multidisciplinary regional teams leverage core architecture, engineering, and construction expertise, and collaborate with top-tier industry consultants to deliver a complementary range of services. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Embrace innovative technologies and practices, and advise clients on sustainable options that are energy efficient and environmentally responsible
  • Perform energy audits, system commissioning, forensic evaluations, construction management, design, and evaluations as they relate to MEP + FP building systems
  • Assist clients with requirements of regulations/legislation, not limited to applying a working knowledge of the Clean Buildings Act     
  • Operate as a leader with clients, colleagues, and consultants in the office and on-site
  • Conduct property condition assessments (PCAs) and provide estimates of probable costs
  • Peer review building designs
  • Travel to project sites as required (primarily day trips)
KNOWLEDGE + SKILLS 
  • 15-20+ years’ experience in the engineering design and evaluation of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems 
  • Demonstrated client and team leadership and project management successes 
  • Experience with climate resilience, net zero/net positive, embodied carbon, and low-carbon building strategies and guidelines preferred
  • HVAC and plumbing system expertise, along with a fundamental knowledge of electrical and fire protection systems
  • Strong working knowledge of national and state building codes and experience in facilities engineering, energy audits, commissioning, and sustainability consulting 
  • Ability to integrate your passion for sustainability with practical legal requirements to provide expert solutions
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner, remain organized, and multitask 
  • Eagerness to collaborate across disciplines and committed to lifelong learning in the ever-evolving field of MEP engineering
  • PNW market knowledge, including energy and sustainability requirements
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Box
LICENSURE + CERTIFICATIONS
  • Current valid professional registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Washington with BSME, BSEE or BSAE with mechanical or electrical specialty
  • LEED, CEM or Commissioning Certificates are a plus
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering required.
