Given the healthcare system’s organic growth and impact they are seeking a Senior Interior Designer in Baltimore, MD or Washington, DC.

PROFILE
The Senior Interior Designer embodies the highest standards of design excellence and innovation, as well as a mindful approach to interiors as directly impacting the delivery of exemplary care. As a collaborative design leader, the Senior Interior Designer works closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines to leverage the collective expertise and advance the healthcare system’s mission. In collaboration with healthcare planning and design colleagues, and under the direction of the Senior Director, Architecture + Planning, the Senior Interior Designer provides inspiration and design direction for a mix of projects across multiple hospital campuses. As a design and project leader, the Senior Interior Designer is actively involved with projects from initial client engagement and programming through the development of plans, designs, and construction documents for additions, alterations, and renovations. They are actively engaged in reviewing the performance of existing materials while providing direction of the interior design standards for finishes and furniture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture is preferred. Waived if alternate education and work experience achieved.
  • NCIDQ or Architectural Registration as required for professional practice.
  • Eligible to be examined for registration as a Certified Interior Designer (CID) in the State of MD.
  • 8-10+ years of design experience with a strong focus on Healthcare
  • Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of design, construction, operations and maintenance fields, and governmental regulations and codes.
  • Proficient with Windows, Email, Microsoft Office, Project Management software and AutoCAD
  • High level of ability to solve problems and manage information indicated herein.
  • Proficient written and verbal English communication skills, on a college graduate level.
  • Ability to plan, research, analyze, coordinate, implement and present project requirements.
  • Ability to generate clear design direction and convey to other designers and design professionals.
  • Interact professionally with hospital staff, contractors, manufacturers, vendors, and consultants.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of interior design within healthcare environments including programming, space planning, FF&E, concept and design development, and detailing.
