The firm's emphasis on education and technology elevates the design process and allows for innovation throughout each project. Given the firm’s continued growth, they are seeking a Managing Principal to lead the practice.
The Managing Principal will be an articulate and strategic leader, projecting the spirit and creativity of the firm in the public realm. As a key member of the firm’s leadership team s/he will focus on all aspects of the company that relate to business and management, allowing for the elevation of design across the organization. S/he will establish best practices and create platforms to promote design and technical excellence while focusing on the development of superior project delivery methodologies.
This strategic hands-on leader will be actively involved in the creative development of projects and the firm. They will monitor all aspects of projects focused on the highest quality of work exceeding the client’s and company’s expectations. As mentor and coach s/he will motivate project teams and individuals, fostering an environment of mutual respect and trust among members of the firm as it grows and develops. Working in close collaboration with the firm’s Partners, s/he will play a lead role in the development and execution of marketing and business development strategies, staff development, project design/delivery and client relations.
The Managing Principal will have a proven track record in the cultivation and acquisition of new clients, and will extend existing relationships with referral sources, consultants and other influencers while consistently making networks aware of the firm’s design expertise. Marketing and business development activities will include target client identification, proposal preparation and presentation, and active industry event networking.
The Managing Principal will be under consideration for partnership after one year.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
15+ years professional experience with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
Architecture License preferred, LEED Accreditation preferred
Established record of successfully running multiple projects + teams
Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to manage people and projects
Proven experience identifying leads, building a network and winning work.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills both internally and externally.
